The Cure for the Uptown Ghost:
From Uptowner Jessica Myers
– I am an investigator of the paranormal research group G*H*O*S*T Ghost Hunters of Southwest Tennessee and live here in Uptown – also known as Greenlaw. If you think you might have a “ghost,” or have things that go bump in the night, we offer 100% free investigations by qualified researchers. As you all may well know, our neighborhood is rich in history. Greenlaw was the oldest suburban neighborhood in the city of Memphis. John Rice Grant owned the land in 1789, but Indians killed John in 1797. The deed to the land was then given to John Overton and his partners – Andrew Jackson and James Winchester. They in turn sold the parcels to the Greenlaw brothers.
Since then, Greenlaw has seen its share of historic events. Many were tragic -slavery, yellow fever epidemics, civil war, and the great flood of 1912. Over the last few decades, the area has succumbed to urban blight. Only a scattering of the old homes and businesses remain standing today. Where once Victorian mansions completed the cityscape, modern townhouses now reign supreme.
While these old residences and businesses have been replaced with newer homes, quite often spirits still “live” in the locations. Due to the nature of the history of our neighborhood, there are many of the precursors in place that seem to prompt paranormal activity. If you have been experiencing any strange occurrences, or feel that you may have a spirit in your home or business, please contact us: www.tennesseeghost.com
We use scientific equipment to validate and capture paranormal activity – similar to the TV shows. We are registered with the state of Tennessee and Shelby County and are also insured. Our team conducts investigations in residential and commercial properties. We are local folks with spouses and children who just enjoy and have a passion for ghost hunting. Please contact us at our website: www.tennesseeghost.com or call 901-722-9101.
Once again, our services are 100% free.
